Here are the following refined logos for the Island Project brief! Comments are much appreciated!
(a.) I added the red as suggested by a good friend of ours cause it clearly emphasizes on the awareness term. Well, clearly besides the fact that it vaguely resembles an apple just like how Tasmania itself is.
(b.) Just another alternative with a different use of typeface (District Thin being the first and Delicious the second)
(c.) Repositioned the words to the bottom left corner. Design likewise has been the same, as it probably turned out as everyone else' favourite during discussion on Monday class.
Sorry bout earlier on, Astrid! My alarm clock failed on me :X

good stuff man! um.. i am feeling your B designs a bit more compared to others.. and i like both the thin and bold version.
2 things tho.
- the leaf position; can it be aligned to the base of E or the middle stroke of E?
- the position of the whole text seems to be floating in the box..and i quite like how you align your text on C; so! left-bottom align is what i'm trying to say :P but be careful with the distance between the text and the side of the box, i think the C design is too close and i prefer the B distance.....
er... confusing eh.
thanks for the post mun..
sorry guys i'm way too late :(
I really like the red you've used ..
hmm my preference here is ( c ) ..
I would suggest trying it in red as well..
you could use both colours in your communications .. I'm thinking of the red as a primary colour here.. and the green as a secondary..
I kinda like the logos in A .. for some reason its just as refreshing as the green. Maybe because it resembles an apple as you mention. Within the logos in (a).. I prefer the 1st one .. the position of the arrow is good in this way. Maybe try making (a1) green as well and see how it looks. My vote is for (a1).
Re; the 'Island Project',
I'm questioning that the relevance of the House/Arrow graphic in the
2 red versions.
The identity is for a scientific program to study the effects of
climate change on the island a s whole, environment, people,
wildlife, etc rather than housing.
So for that reason I think the green version with the leaf motif is
probably a better direction to, explore.
Of the 3 green ones, I think the last - (3rd version), is a little
simpler and easier on the eye to read, with the type at the bottom
left and green leaf on top.
The type seems to work and read better as well.
The other 2 seem a little squeezed in putting everything including
the white leaf in the box.
i think the idea of the green box, representing the Island and also
with a subtle reference to the 'apple Isle' supported by the colour
green, suggest vegetation, flora, environment, etc without looking
too much like an 'apple' brand.
