Studio Philosophy
We strive for efficiency in the little amount of time that we get together but work close to produce smart designs that works. We place ourselves in the not only the client's shoes but also have a wide perspective on how the client's customers would react to our designs. We like enforce that every idea is a possibility and there can never be too much when it comes to brainstorming. Being 'Blank' designers, we proclaim ourselves to be versatile in several fields of design. If other studios can do it, we don't see why we can't do it better.

Preparation of Final Report
Hello Blank Designers!
The semester is coming to an end, and I'm pretty sure everyone's all hyped up about it. We are almost done with the GRAP2256 brief, with just the report to go. What I need from you guys are the timeline sheet (personal record of the amount of time you spent on each and every collateral for the respective brief) and also a final representation of your work done.
For the representation of work, all you have to do is just FIT the FINAL WORKS that you have done into an A4 sized paper. Do note that you should leave a 15mm margin on all sides for header and footer.
DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE AND FIT YOUR WORK WITHIN THE AREA.
Please provide the final representation of work TOMORROW in soft copy and personal TIMELINE SHEET so I can include into the final report and have everything done by tomorrow. Thank you!
Cheers!
An example of what I should be expecting tomorrow for compilation of everything for the report.

Final Rehearsal of Presentation
Dear fellow Blank Designers!
Astrid, Haitham and I talked about preparation of the presentation for next Monday and so we have decided to do a rehearsal this coming Friday (26th September 2008) at Building 88. Just getting the points right and to avoid further hiccups during the actual day itself.
We are also required to compile the works of our respective briefs, therefore it would be AWESOME if we could get everything done by then and have them photographed. This provides a much more uniform outcome, emphasizing in the consistency of the flow.
Anything else that needs to be suggested, please bring forth and we shall discuss on Friday itself.
DATE: 26 SEPTEMBER 2008 (FRIDAY)
TIME: 2:00PM. No later than that, please.
WHERE: RMIT Building 88.... OUR BUILDING..
Thank you for your co-operation!
Have a nice day!

The Island Project Rationale!

The Island Project Final Logo (zipped) 975kb
Delicious typeface (zipped) 89kb
Rationale
The Island Project brief is based on a proposal in developing a thorough environmental research program of Tasmania's islands. The research will highlight on various aspects of climate change and the effects that come together with it.
Having said so, the logo is designed in such a way to reflect on the nature of friendly environment by using the apple green colour. The leaf further emphasizes on the given subject matter which forms an abstractive figure of an apple.
That would represent the idea of Tasmania also being well known as the Apple Isle, given its' reputation as one of the major exports of apple, besides the fact that the island itself is shaped vaguely like an apple.
Feel free to giving constructive feedback should you need more information regarding the brief of even the whole process of coming up with the logo. Cheers!

Monday's Presentation
Start Time - 22 Aug 08, 11:54am
Breaks Duration - 2-3 Hours
End Time - 22 Aug 08, 4:34pm
Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Here is the brief breakdown of my presentation on Monday. Feel free to add comments or ask questions if you want to. I have not done the Island Project pages yet because I'm not sure if there is going to be anymore improvements since our last discussion and Carlo's feedback. Do update.
Cover Page

Designers Introduction

Introduction to Studio ID

We were looking for a name that means versatility in the way we approach a brief. We thought the word "blank" as an empty space in a page, a place to fill anything in in whatever style we want. The letter K has been modified to create an aesthetic signature for our studio ID while still retaining it's professional look. Being sharp and clean as it is makes it easily readable and applicable to any form of collateral we may use.
Introduction to ITP

These are the designers involved in the ITP Project.
ITP Breakdown

The green percentage sign defines our logo to the client's field of business. It is a symbol which represents numbers, math and most of all, income tax. Green is, as many would recognize as, the color of money. Although not every country have their notes in this color, we still felt that this color looks more friendly and refreshing for the company's clients. Having clients coming from various cultural backgrounds, the need for clear and legible typeface is important. Chalet not only conforms to that, but also seems to retain some elements from the current logo making it easier to relate to. This typeface is also suitable at any size making it a great logo for stationary prints.

The Island Project Drafts

Here are the following refined logos for the Island Project brief! Comments are much appreciated!
(a.) I added the red as suggested by a good friend of ours cause it clearly emphasizes on the awareness term. Well, clearly besides the fact that it vaguely resembles an apple just like how Tasmania itself is.
(b.) Just another alternative with a different use of typeface (District Thin being the first and Delicious the second)
(c.) Repositioned the words to the bottom left corner. Design likewise has been the same, as it probably turned out as everyone else' favourite during discussion on Monday class.
Sorry bout earlier on, Astrid! My alarm clock failed on me :X
